Smiles (or maybe not)

I think Owen is smiling now... that is, actual smiles, not just gas. It is hard to tell, but I'd like to think he is a happy baby and is letting us know it. It could still just be gas... he is quite the gassy baby. Either way, I'm going to believe they are real smile :)

Owen has been good the past two days. However, he has been getting very fussy after he eats and spits up a lot. The spit up is very mucous-y. If he continues to act like this through the night, I am going to call the pediatrician. In addition to his mucous-y spit up, he still has a lot of eye gunk and I worry that maybe he has a cold.

Today I did a bit of cooking. I made goulash in the Dutch oven (first time recipe). It smells good and Scott had a little taste and gave good reviews. I hope it comes out well... I could use some good home cooked food.

I also tried to bake a dessert recipe that I got from my aunt at my bridal shower. Unfortunately it looks like she skipped some steps of the recipe so I had to improvise. I am not too optimistic about the results of these so-called "Chocolate Layer Bars." We'll see.

Here's a shot of Owen doing some tummy time. Using this little pillow, he is much happier on his belly. Still, he'll only tolerate it for a few minutes.
