First Border Crossing

It's funny to count the number of "firsts" that new parents notice. On Thursday, it was Owen's first day wearing pants. On Friday, it was his first trip outside Virginia. Owen and I traveled to Baltimore, MD to have lunch with my Cousin Kerry. I'm sure there were lots of other "firsts" throughout these days... like first time in a parking garage and first time in a sit-down restaurant. I'm sure I'll recount some silly firsts over time.

Our visit with Kerry - and car trip - were great. Owen slept the whole time in the car - both there and back. Even more, he slept the whole time in the restaurant. I was a bit worried about where I was going to feed and change him, but was able to do both successfully in the car both before and after lunch. It was so nice to spend the long lunch with Kerry. Kerry looked wonderful and we had great conversations. Owen now looks forward to meeting the rest of the Hoffman family!
