It is now 10 am and Owen is still sleeping! He went to bed later than usual last night (around 11:30 pm)... and it seems to have done well for his sleep cycles. He woke up after about 2 hours to nurse, then 3 hours and now it’s been more than 4 hours! I think the trick on this 4 hour span is that he has been sleeping on his tummy. He started sleeping on his side in my arms but rolled over some to be on his tummy. He is happy as a bug in a bed (and so am I).
I have been using this time while he is sleeping to pack up our stuff to head to Aunt Denise's for the night. Tonight she is planning a Pizza Party with Aunt Michel, Mia and Timmy. That will be very fun, I'm sure.
Yesterday Owen and I had a long lunch with Marcel. It was good to get out and catch up with "old" friends. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a photo of Rude with the little one... but don't worry curious blog readers, we'll figure something out to expose you to the character who is Rude.
Owen and I took Grandma and Grandpa to a local restaurant called Good Times. I was surprised by how nice it was... for Oxford! We all had wonderful meals - fish and steak - and yummy dessert. Owen got a bit cranky right when our meals were put down (of course). To our fortune, the restaurant was quite empty so his cries didn’t disrupt too many - and we were able to walk around the floor without interrupting. Grandma and I traded off soothing the baby and we tried to make the best of it.

Owen is as happy as a bug in a bed? That must be happy indeed. Just ask the ticks, fleas and earwigs how they feel after a full evening of feasting on my flesh with their scissor like pincers! If the size and redness of the welts is any measure of joy, then all must be practically dancing with jubilation! I guess I could try washing, but the priests tell me that is how the plague is spread. Well, that and my penchant for celebrating Lucifer with human sacrifice, bacchanalia and a light dinner of buboes infected rat meat.
