Can you believe it... the car alarm is still not working correctly since the installation of the remote start! It all seemed to be working fine - but then today it happened again. The alarm went off for no reason and then I couldnt turn it off. Since I didnt properly turn it off, everytime I locked, unlocked, started or stopped the car it would go off. I was so embarrassed - and furious. The folks at Best Buy are a joke. I am the worst at recounting stories so let me just say they have the worst customer service skills and I will never shop there again and recommend others not to either. My car is still there and they don't know if they will get the alarm/remote start working correctly. I could understand this if I had some uncommon or crappy car - but I have the most common car in America (an Accord) -- how can it be that complicated?!
Anyway...
Today I registered Owen with a family day care provider. It is one of the hardest things to do as a parent. I am so nervous about the decision. We registered through a service that credentials at-home day care providers. They do medical and criminal background checks on all members of the house and they provide professional training. They also do monthly unannounced site visits and continuing training. It seems to be a well run program - and they have been around for nearly 20 years.
We selected a woman who lives near us in Fairfax. Her name is Raj and she and her family are from India. In fact, her husband owns and runs an Indian restaurant - yum :) She has three of her own children -- the youngest is about 14. Scott and I met her and her two youngest children and they were all so loving and interested in Owen -- and all children. Her oldest daughter is in nursing school and sounds just as nice as the rest of the family. Raj seemed like a natural with Owen... she knew how to hold him to make him feel comfortable and understood important developmental milestones (like tummy time, etc.). She also cares for 2 other children - both part time. One is two-years old; the other is about 5 months old. Both are boys too! I spoke with the other mothers as references and they both raved about Raj. They both assured me they feel totally comfortable leaving their sons with her. I hope I will be as confident.

Oh I believe it, I'd sooner shop the fieriest pits of Hell before goddamn Worst Buy. Too bad they screwed up your car alarm. Now what I am going to ignore when I walk through the parking lot at the mall?
I find many strange coincidences on this blog. "How's that Rude", you ask. Well, I'll tell ya. I once tried to get a job as a child day care worker for that very same agency mentioned on the blog. They were almost crazed with singleminded zeal to discover all they could about my background. Needless to say, my shoplifting soup from The Schlong and association with the notorious "Condo Posse" was enough to keep me out of thier employ.
Ah well, their loss. Actually no. I'm really bad with children. I think it's because they can sense evil and run away from me.
