Opa Visited

Opa came down for a weekend visit. He arrived yesterday and left late today. It was a quick visit but a good one. Last night we all went out to dinner. We went to a restaurant that is fairly big - and definitely noisy. The murmur of all the diners lulled Owen to sleep and he didn't make a peep the whole time we were there. It was a delicious dinner - and dessert - and was even better not worrying about Owen the whole time.

Today we all went into DC to see the Cherry Blossoms. It was a beautiful day - unlike the weather reports we heard earlier in the week. While Scott and I had visited the Cherry Blossoms earlier in the week with Bryan, JT, George, Christine and Jake, we were happy to go again with Opa. Well - happy to see the Cherry Blossoms, not so happy to have to get there! It was madness today -- it took us more than an hour to find a place to park. Many of the main roads were closed to traffic, which made it even more difficult to find our way around. We finally found (legal) parking and were off to see the sites. Scott and Opa brought their bikes and Owen and I strolled around. At first, I tried to walk around with Owen in the baby carrier. I don't think he cares for it too much since he can't see me or other people. We switched back to the stroller and he was happy to see me and the sites. Owen was good most of the time we walked around, but didn't sleep at all.

Tonight he was pretty cranky. He may have had an upset tummy. He kept having volcano spits this afternoon and evening. Maybe my feast last night does not agree with him. I also think he didn't sleep much this afternoon. Finally, though, he is fast asleep. I am sure he'll sleep through the night now (with a few snacks in between, of course).

I swear I thought this post said it took two hours to find a place to pork.
