Today Owen and I went and did a bit of shopping. I had to buy some summer shoes. I really needed something that wasn't so closed in making my feet hot and sweaty (lovely, huh). I also wanted to get Owen some more shorts outfits and a stroller. Mission accomplished... and then some! We did very well shopping, although he required being held most of the time. I don't mind holding him, but I don't like having to hold him and push the stroller. I hope he'll like being in the new stroller more than his current one (since it requires he be in his infant car seat which he doesn't particularly like). We went for a short stroll around the block in the new stroller and he seemed to like it. The only down side is that now he looks out and I can't see him (or him see me) - I think I'll miss him this way!
I am really getting anxious and sad about having to go to work on Thursday and Friday. Fortunately, Owen has been doing much better with the bottle so I can be more confident in that regard. But I am still so nervous about leaving him with a stranger... and being gone from him for so long. It makes me want to cry just thinking about it.
I have been continuing my search for a nanny... despite the fact we found Raj (family day care). I found a family in our town who is looking for a nanny on Mondays and Tuesdays so we have joined forces and are looking for a nanny together that we can 'share.' I guess it is a good way to find a nanny since few want to be part time... this way they feel as if they are full time (just with two families). So far we haven't had any luck, but we just started looking this week. If we can afford a nanny... and find one we can trust... I think I would prefer it. Owen could stay at home, get one-on-one attention and have more opportunities (like walks and daytrips, etc.). Until we find some potential nannies, I am comfortable to stick with Raj.
By the way, you may notice on the sidebar I added some links to other blogs. These are blogs of family or friends that you may be interested in. (Incidentally, if you don't want me to post your blog on here, just let me know!)

Babies don't know how to sweat? In what archaic medieval parenting codex did your friend glean that superstition? Indeed. Ask yourself, how often are the times that you've seen young mothers packing dry ice around their babies as summer approaches? Do they pant to cool themselves? Do babies mist themselves with fetid lake water as does an elephant? I know how to sweat till I groove and I can tell you, I've been doing it since I was a babe. (not that I'm not a total babe now of course). Ah but on to bigger and better things I find in the Springtime posting. Shoes! Go hit the mall and get a pair of phat Tims. Yes, Timberland's Scroll Oxford Taupe Sport Casual shoes are HOT son. Go get 'em! I am.
Hmm, what else. I find this blog a real juicer and this new floating comment window quite convienent.
Oh the nanny. Well, search no further friends, I have your nanny. She was working in bridal shop in Flushing Queens, till her boyfriend kicked her out in one of those crushing scenes. What was she to do? Where was she to go? She was out on her fanny. Well, I told this brash, nasaly, oh-so-one-dimensionally-New York 40-something that you were looking for a nanny. So expect a call from Fran Drescher any day now.
You added links to other peoples blogs? Bad idea. I think the infamy of Rude the Dude may grow.
um, yeah...i'm pretty sure i don't intuitively know how to sweat either...
Its simple. Just let the music take control and let the rythym move you.
